RESTORING COASTAL ECOSYSTEMS: PUFFI LEADS MANGROVE PLANTING 2026 IN CARMEN, CEBU
In line with its commitment to environmental sustainability and corporate social responsibility, Phil-Union Frozen Foods, Inc. successfully conducted its Mangrove Planting 2026 activity on May 5, 2026, at Barangay Bantigi, Luyang, Carmen, Cebu.

This initiative continues the company’s long-term efforts to protect and rehabilitate coastal areas. Phil-Union has previously undertaken mangrove planting activities in Barangay Bantigi, recognizing that restoring these vital ecosystems is essential for both nature and local communities.

Planting mangrove propagules is a fundamental step in restoration, as these young seedlings are carefully chosen and set in suitable tidal areas to ensure successful growth. Once established, they develop into dense forests that protect coastlines from erosion and storms while providing vital habitats for marine species.

For Phil-Union Frozen Foods, Inc., this activity is more than a conservation project — it is a meaningful way of giving back to the environment, which is the source of the marine resources the company relies on. Preserving healthy mangrove forests ensures that coastal ecosystems remain productive and sustainable for years to come.

The activity also encouraged active participation from employees, raising awareness about the importance of environmental stewardship. Phil-Union remains dedicated to continuing such programs, ensuring that its operations contribute positively to both the economy and the protection of the environment.
