Phil‑Union Frozen Foods, Inc. (PUFFI) successfully held its annual Fire and Earthquake Drill 2026 at PUFFI Plant 1, in partnership with personnel from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Region 7, Mactan Newtown Station. The activity took place on April 15, 2026, at 3:00 PM.

 

It was organized to strengthen workplace safety, improve emergency readiness, and ensure all employees are familiar with the correct response procedures during fires, earthquakes, or similar incidents. This allowed the team to practice moving quickly and in an orderly manner from their work areas to the designated safe assembly point.

 

BFP personnel led practical demonstrations and shared important instructions on proper evacuation techniques, the correct use of fire extinguishers, and basic first aid. They also provided reminders on how to prevent fire hazards and stay calm during seismic events.

 

The session concluded with a short evaluation and feedback discussion, where areas for improvement were noted to make future drills even more efficient.
